Cold Cases

The Franklin Police Department is dedicated to investigating unsolved cases, including homicides and other serious crimes that remain open after initial investigation. Investigators use advanced investigative techniques, forensic analysis, and modern technology to re-examine evidence, follow up on new leads, and work closely with other law enforcement agencies. The goal is to bring justice and closure to victims and their families, regardless of how much time has passed. 

Cold Case #1 - Homicide 
Victim: Robert H. Reese, M/B, DOB:05-31-1949
Occurred: September 11, 1976

On Saturday, September 11, 1976, at 9:45 a.m., the body of Robert Reese was found in the 7200 block of S. 68th Street in the City of Franklin, Wisconsin. Reese's body was found inside his vehicle, which was set on fire. The body was badly burned and had visible wounds to the head area.


Cold Case #2 - Homicide
Victim: Lyle G. Trudeau, M/W, DOB 12-22-1958 
Occurred: February 1, 1986

On February 1, 1986, at 11:21 a.m., the body of Lyle Trudeau was found lying in the ditch at 3600 W. Elm Road, Franklin, Wisconsin. Lyle was last seen at Cory's Port of Call, a tavern in Cudahy, on February 1, 1986. He was found beaten and stabbed later that morning at the above location in Franklin.


Cold Case #3 – Missing Person
Victim: Sandra A. Eckert
Occurred: March 26, 2021

Sandra A. Eckert was last seen on Friday, March 26, 2021, at 11:30 p.m., at her residence in the 7200 block of S. North Cape Road, Franklin, Wisconsin, wearing black leggings, colorful tennis shoes, and a large navy blue and teal North Carolina Tarheels Starter brand jacket.  

A vehicle listed to her is also missing; described as a grey 2005 Dodge Stratus 4 door, Wisconsin license plate 319LGT.  Her known cell phone, social media accounts, and bank accounts have all been inactive since she was reported missing. The vehicle was last seen by the City of Muskego Police Department on Saturday, March 27th, at 3 a.m., traveling southbound on Racine Avenue, westbound on Tans Drive, and then southbound on Crowbar Drive.

Cold Case #4 – Missing Person
Victim: Father John (Anthony) F. Kluckman
Occurred: July 21, 2022


 
Father Anthony Kluckman went missing at 1:35 a.m. on Thursday, July 21, 2022.  He was last seen outside his apartment building near the Priests of the Sacred Heart Monastery on Hwy. 100 and W. Rawson Avenue.  Father Kluckman was last seen wearing glasses, an ID bracelet, a square print multi-colored shirt, dark pants, white Adidas tennis shoes, and carrying a small black duffel bag.  He is 5 feet, 10 inches tall and approximately 250 pounds.
