City Attorney

The law firm of Wesolowski, Reidenbach, & Sajdak, S.C. is responsible for conducting most of the legal business in which the City is involved; such as researching and preparing legal opinions, researching and drafting ordinances, drafting resolutions, providing general legal counsel services, providing representation for the purchase and sale of property, providing general litigation services, and for the prosecution of ordinance and traffic code violations.   


  • Attends all Common Council Meetings, Plan Commission Meetings, and Community Development Authority Meetings.

  • Reviews ordinances and resolutions.

  • Consults with staff and elected officials on legal matters. 

  • Renders legal opinions as requested. 

  • Holds instructional meetings. 

  • Coordinates legal defense of claims against the City. 

  • Represents the City, its Boards and Officers in civil claims and litigation. 

  • Prosecutes ordinance violations.  

  • Prepares and reviews development agreements. 

  • Prepares and/or reviews City contracts. 

  • Provides Boards and Commissions support services drafting agendas, public hearing notices, resolutions, ordinances, and motions for the Plan Commission, the Community Development Authority, the Economic Development Commission, the Environmental Commission, and the Parks Commission.
