Prescription Drug Collection

The Police Department offers a Prescription Drug Collection Program to help residents safely dispose of unused, unwanted, or expired medications. A secure drop-box is located in the Police Department lobby, 9455 W. Loomis Road, where the public can deposit medications anonymously 24 hours a day.

Accepted items: prescription and over-the-counter medication, ointments, sprays, inhalers, creams, and pet medication.

Not accepted: Biohazardous material, needles/sharps, personal care products (shampoo, soap, lotions, etc.), and household hazardous waste (paint, pesticides, oils, gas).

Collected medications are securely handled and destroyed according to DEA guidelines. This program helps prevent drug misuse, accidental poisonings, and environmental contamination.
