This site is open to Franklin residents, with identification, Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Saturdays, 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. (CLOSED Tuesdays and Thursdays). To dispose of large amounts of carpet, large furniture, computers, and refuse not considered "regular household garbage", call Johns Disposal Service at 1-888-473-4701 or 262-473-4700 to arrange a special pickup and for pricing (prepay by credit card only).

Needles, syringes, and lancets used at home must be stored in appropriate containers and taken to a collection site for disposal. (Knives, razors, and other sharp objects can be placed in the trash for pickup after being wrapped to prevent injury.) The City of Franklin Health Department is a sharps collection site for Franklin residents. Containers for collecting sharps are also available at the Franklin Health Department. Collection times are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. For further information, call 414-425-9101.

No, compost is not available; however, wood chips are available and located in a bin just outside of the Franklin Recycling Center gate at 7979 W. Ryan Road. You may help yourself to these at any time. Be sure to bring along a shovel or pitch fork and a container, as the chips are self serve.
