Privacy Notice

Your computer communicates with the City of Franklin's website using a particular Internet Protocol (IP) Address.  Like most sites, the City of Franklin can track the user's IP when visiting the site.  The IP allows the City of Franklin to track for each user the IP, the browser type, the part of the world from which the user is connecting, and the identity of the user's Internet service provider.  However, the IP does not provide any personally identifiable information and allows the user to remain anonymous.  This information helps us to improve site navigation and to make improvements to the site and content.

To the extent that this website contains, or may in the future contain, on-line registration forms for activities or services, during the on-line registration process you may be asked for your name, address, email address, phone number, birth date, occupation, work experiences, employment history, education level, references, or other general or special purpose information needed to complete on-line registration for the specific activity or service.  Please be aware that if you voluntarily disclose information over the Internet, personal or otherwise, the information is subject to review and collection by unintended third parties.  If you post personal information on line, you may receive unsolicited messages from others.  The City of Franklin has no means to control this. All personal information that is collected will only be used by the City for the intended purpose.

Google Analytics We use a tool called “Google Analytics” to collect information about use of this site. Google Analytics collects information such as how often users visit this site, what pages they visit when they do so, and what other sites they used prior to coming to this site. We use the information we get from Google Analytics only to improve this site. Google Analytics collects only the IP address assigned to you on the date you visit this site, rather than your name or other identifying information. We do not combine the information collected through the use of Google Analytics with personally identifiable information. Although Google Analytics plants a permanent cookie on your web browser to identify you as a unique user the next time you visit this site, the cookie cannot be used by anyone but Google. Google’s ability to use and share information collected by Google Analytics about your visits to this site is restricted by the Google Analytics Terms of Use (as amended for government websites) and the Google Privacy Policy. You can prevent Google Analytics from recognizing you on return visits to this site by disabling cookies on your browser.
