Part-Time (Saturday and Sunday) - Applications will be accepted until 9 a.m. on Friday, June 26, 2026.

The City of Franklin is currently looking for a part-time Custodian to work 8 hours per week (Saturday and Sunday).    

Essential Duties:  Maintains clean, safe, and well-functioning City facilities under the direction of the Building Maintenance Superintendent.  Cleans offices, restrooms, and public areas; sanitizes high-use surfaces and replenishes facilities supplies.  Performs floor care, including sweeping, mopping, buffing, and carpet cleaning.  Maintains building entrances, sidewalks, and surrounding areas, including litter pickup and seasonal snow removal.  Washes windows, walls, and fixtures, and assists with periodic facility deep-cleaning tasks.  Performs minor maintenance and upkeep tasks, such as painting, basic repairs, and replacing light bulbs.  Identifies and reports larger maintenance issues to management.  Sets up and takes down rooms for meetings and events, and handles the opening, closing, locking, and securing of facilities.  Operates and maintains custodial equipment and maintains records of completed work.  Follows proper safety procedures, handles cleaning products correctly, and monitors building safety conditions. Qualifications:  High school diploma or GED equivalent required. At least one (1) year of custodian, facilities, or related experience required.  Experience working in municipal, school, or commercial facilities is preferred.  Basic knowledge of building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing) and floor care equipment/techniques is preferred.  Ability to operate custodial equipment safely. A valid Wisconsin driver's license is required.  

Starting Wages and Benefits:  $19.53 to $25.39/hour, depending on qualifications and years of experience. No benefits are eligible for this position.

Hours:  Saturday and Sunday, 8 hours per week.
