The City of Franklin, located in the far southwest corner of Milwaukee County, is accepting applications for a full-time Public Health Nurse.
Essential Duties: Investigates and controls communicable diseases, provides immunizations and public health nursing services, and develops health-promotion and disease-prevention programs. Educates community members and partners, analyzes public health data, maintains medical documentation, and prepares reports and educational materials. Qualifications: Requires a BSN from an approved nursing program with public health preparation and an active, unrestricted Wisconsin RN license. A valid driver’s license and Level C CPR certification within six months are required; one year of public health nursing experience is preferred. Must possess strong communication, analytical, technical, and interpersonal skills, maintain confidentiality, occasionally work evenings and weekends, and lift up to 50 pounds.
Licensure:
- Valid Driver’s License
- Level C CPR certification (required within 6 months of employment)
- Active and unencumbered license to practice as a registered nurse (RN) in Wisconsin
Salary: $67,501 to $81,760 annually (up to $89,439 commensurate with experience).
