The City of Franklin Fire Department is seeking an outgoing, well-organized professional for the position of Community Fire Prevention Specialist (CFPS).  The CFPS’s primary responsibility is to coordinate and conduct annual fire inspections for all commercial and multi-tenant residential properties within the City.  The Department is seeking an individual who can conduct these inspections in an interactive and educative manner.  Secondary responsibilities include community fire safety and prevention outreach activities, such as facilitating evacuation drills in senior housing, schools, and daycares.  Experience in fire alarm and suppression plan review is desirable. The ideal candidate will have an outgoing and engaging personality, excellent time management and organizational skills, and will be highly detail-oriented.

Requirements:  High School diploma and 2 years full-time related work experience required (such as background in firefighting, building inspection, or construction).  An Associate’s degree is desirable but not required.  State of Wisconsin Fire Inspector I or the ability to attain such within six (6) months, and a valid WI driver’s license are required.  View full job description

Salary Range:  $54,893 to $71,359/year with the expected starting salary to be $54,893 - $65,597/year depending on qualifications.
