Flu Vaccine Clinics

Protection from the flu vaccine begins 2 weeks after it is given and lasts 6 or more months. The flu season begins late December, peaks the month of February, and lasts throughout April.  See "FLUency Facts" Flyer here.

Flu Vaccinations


CHILDREN (6 Months through 18 Years):  

  • City of Franklin residents 6 months of age and older are eligible for flu vaccine. 
  • Thimerosal-free standard formulation is available.   
  • The vaccination fee for children 6 months through 18 years of age is $10 per dose.  

ADULTS (19 Years & Older):

  • The vaccine fee is $41 for adults 19 and over receiving the quadrivalent formulation. 

SENIORS (65 Years & Older):

  • For seniors 65 and older, the high-dose formulation is given.  Medicare covers the cost of this vaccine.
  • Those with the HMO United Healthcare/AARP/Secure Horizons, the cost of the vaccine is covered.  All other HMO members should receive their vaccine through their health provider or they may receive the vaccine at the Franklin Health Department for a cost of $41 for the quadrivalent formulation or $61 for the high-dose formulation.
  • For any claims rejected by Medicare, clients will be billed.
  • Seniors must bring their Medicare card, their insurance card, and a photo ID such as a driver's license.
