Solid Waste Collection & Recycling

The Solid Waste Department provides weekly refuse, bi-weekly recycling, and 3 times a year leaves and brush collection to all single-family, two-family, and condominium ownership multi-family units.  The collection service is outsourced to a private contractor, and the contract is re-bid every 3 years.  A new 3-year contract began January 2010 with Johns Disposal Services of Whitewater.  In addition, the City provides a Residential Brush Drop-Off and Recycling Center adjacent to the Public Works Garage at 7979 W. Ryan Road that is manned by Highway Division personnel and is open 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Saturday (except holidays).
