Alderman Taylor has been a Franklin resident since he purchased his home in 2006. He was appointed to Franklin's Environmental Commission in December of 2007 and served in that capacity until his election to the Common Council in April of 2008. He currently serves as Common Council President.
Steve grew up and attended high school in neighboring Muskego. He obtained a Bachelor's Degree in political science and in public administration from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse.
Alderman Taylor was elected to the La Crosse Common Council in 1997 at the age of 21. Steve served La Crosse's 6th District from 1997-2001. He served on the Highways, Properties and Utilities Committee for one year and the Finance and Personnel Committee for three years. While on the Finance and Personnel Committee he was elected as vice chairman. He also served La Crosse's Historic Goosetown Neighborhood Association as its President from 2001-2002.
Alderman Taylor lived in East Lansing, Michigan from 2002-2006. While living there he was appointed to and served on the Zoning Board of Appeals.
