Alderman Olson has been a Franklin resident since 1988 and is married to his wife Beverly for 26 years. He served as Alderman for Franklin's 2nd District from 1998-2001. He has served the City of Franklin in the following capacities:
Chairman of the Economic Development Commission (1993-2002); President, Chairman of the Franklin Chamber of Commerce (1995-1997); Member of the Economic Development Commission (1991-2002), Franklin Finance Committee (1998-2001), Facilities Needs Committee (1999), Impact Fee Task Force (2000-2001), Fair Commission (1998-2001), Cable Television Commission (1998-2000), and Technology Commission (began as Web Site Committee) (2000).
He served as Chairman of the St. Martin's Planning Committee (1998-2001) and as a member of the Franklin Public Schools Facilities Committee (1995). He was Chairman of the Franklin Economic Development Strategic Plan Ad-Hoc Committee, then the Oversight Committee that was responsible for the Ticknor Report and the Franklin First Report (1997-2001).
Alderman Olson also served as President of the Forest Hill Village (Condominium) Association (1995-1997) and as a member of the Franklin Noon Lions Club (1990-1996).
