The City of Franklin is currently accepting applications for summer employment (typically college students) in our Public Works Department. Positions run from approximately mid-May until mid-August.
Duties: Parks and road crew duties such as mowing lawns, washing vehicles, chipping brush, raking or shoveling limestone or asphalt materials, being a flagger for traffic control, etc.
Qualifications Include: Applicants MUST be 18 years of age by the start of employment and have a valid WI driver's license. New employees will be required to pass a drug screen. Successful applicants must be able to lift up to 60 pounds and be able to work in adverse weather conditions (both heat and rainy conditions). Employees are required to wear long pants for certain job duties and safety shoes.
Wages: $13/hour for first year employees with an additional $0.25 for each year of service.
Normal Hours: Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. (Could be some potential for nights/weekends to close parks if needed.) Positions run from approximately mid-May until mid-August.
