Mayor Taylor has been a Franklin resident since 1983, and married to his wife Carol for 32 years. He was formerly an Alderman for Franklin's 5th District, holding office for 2 years.
Past City of Franklin accomplishments include: Common Council President and served in the capacity of Acting Mayor. Served as Chairman of the Finance Committee, Personnel Committee, Licensing Committee, and Public Safety Committee. Served as a member of the City of Franklin's Waste Siting Committee, Economic Development Commission, Franklin Technology Commission, Facilities Needs Committee, Web Site Committee that built the City's site and recommended technology improvements that enhanced and improved the service delivery to the public, and City of Franklin's Negotiating Committee.
He served as a member of the Oversight Committee responsible for the Ticknor Report and the Franklin First Report for the City of Franklin, a comprehensive plan to shift the tax burden through planned economic development.
He also served on the Long-Term Strategic Planning Committee for Milwaukee County. Was appointed By County Executive David Schulz to the position of Acting Director of Human Resources for Milwaukee County and to the position of Assistant Director of the Milwaukee County Department of Labor Relations. He worked under a personal employment contract to Director Zielinski as the Assistant Director of Labor Relations for approximately 13 years, and served as an Executive Board member of Milwaukee District Council 48, AFSCME that represented 14,000 public employees and served as Vice President and Chief Steward of Local 882, AFSCME.
Mayor Taylor worked with directors or top administrators over a twenty year period on reorganizational plans, management initiatives and the like with the following Milwaukee County Departments: The Zoological Gardens, Parks and Recreation Department, Mitchell International Airport, Department on Aging, Circuit Courts of Milwaukee County, Department of Public Works, Treasure's Office, Sheriffs Department, Mental Health Complex, Milwaukee County Museum, Department of Human Resources, Department of Administration, and almost every department of Milwaukee County.
He is a member of the Eagles Club.
