Solid Waste and Recycling Collection

The Solid Waste Department provides weekly refuse, bi-weekly recycling, and 3 times a year leaf and brush collection to all single-family, two-family, and condominium ownership multi-family units.  The collection service is outsourced to a private contractor, and the contract is re-bid every 3 years.  2007 is the first year of a 3-year contract that terminates December 31, 2009 with Veolia Environmental Services (formerly Onyx Waste Services).  In addition, the City provides a recycling center adjacent to the Public Works Garage that is manned by Highway Division personnel and is open 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Saturday.  To find out what day your garbage/recycling is picked up, please contact Debra Zobel at the DPW at 414-425-2592.
