Franklin's Annual Civic Celebration

2010 Franklin Civic Celebration
Friday—Sunday, July 2, 3, & 4th

Friday, July 2, 5 p.m. to 11:30 p.m.
Saturday, July 3, 2 p.m. to Midnight
Sunday, July 4, 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Plan to attend this year's 3-day Franklin Civic Celebration in Lions Legend Park!  Food, carnival rides, kids activities, and plenty of entertainment will be provided for all ages!  Local bands to perform will include Rhythm Method, AMP, Chasin' Mason, The Britins (a tribute to the Beatles), and Mt. Olive.   

Events & Entertainment Schedule (To be posted as soon as available)

July 4th Parade: Children's Parade-10:30 a.m.; Main Parade-11 a.m.  If interested in participating in the parade, please request a registration packet now by calling or emailing Jeanine Olson at 414-425-7789.  All local area scout troops, churches, youth groups, booster clubs, and civic organizations are encouraged to participate.  Deadline for entry is June 15th. 

Franklin Idol VIII Contest: Back for its 8th season—scheduled for Saturday, July 3rd, at 2 p.m.!  Contestants age 18 and over singing to karaoke music are judged on talent, style, and crowd appreciation.  Cash prizes are as follows: 1st Place $500; 2nd Place $200; 3rd Place $100; and 4th Place $50.  To qualify, contestants will be chosen from live auditions to be scheduled in April, May, and June (no entry fees required).  For more information, or to schedule an audition, contact John Bergner at 414-425-2884. (Contest open to U.S. residents 18 years or older, except employees and their immediate families of the City of Franklin and the Franklin Civic Celebrations Commission.  Anyone related to a judge is ineligible.  By entering, all entrants accept and agree to abide by official rules and decisions of the Commission and its judges relating to this contest.)

Volunteers: If interested in volunteering, please fill out and mail back the Volunteer Sign-Up Form, or contact Wendy Knackert at 425-7331.  Volunteers must be at least 21 years old.

Donations: The Civic Celebrations Commission welcomes donations of any dollar amount.  Any business or individual interested in giving a donation or sponsoring a specific event, band, or entertainer, please call or email Mike Reichl at 414-425-9653.
