Franklin's Fifth Annual National Night Out Kick-Off Celebration will be held on Monday, August 3rd, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Franklin Public Library, 9151 W. Loomis Road.

Officers will be available to answer questions about crime prevention and the many other community oriented policing programs offered by the Franklin Police Department. Free crime prevention and other safety materials will be available. Area businesses will have displays including promotional materials and small trinkets for children. Food and soft drinks will be available for purchase, with proceeds supporting the Franklin area food pantries.

This kick-off celebration will be held to draw support for the 26th Annual National Night Out celebrated nationwide on Tuesday, August 4, 2009 from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. Citizens are encouraged to plan activities in their neighborhoods including turning on porch lights and meeting with your neighbors outside. This sends a message to criminals that Franklin's neighborhoods are organized against crime. Please contact a Crime Prevention Officer at 414-425-2522 to schedule a Police Officer visit for your neighborhood's activities on August 4th.
