TRENDS IN RECENT BURGLARIES

September 2012.  Recently there have been several burglaries in Franklin and surrounding communities where it appears that victims were targeted because of their ethnicity.  It appears that a disproportionate number of victims are of Middle Eastern or Indian descent.  While the safety precautions that are posted on our Facebook page and website apply to everyone, we strongly urge members of our foreign-born community to be extra vigilant in looking for suspicious persons and activities in their neighborhoods.

SUSPICIOUS PERSON

On Friday, 04/27/12, at approximately 1:30 AM, the Franklin Police Department received a call from a resident in the 6400 Block of S. 35th Street.  The caller reported hearing a scratching type of noise at his children's bedroom window.  Upon checking, he observed a subject wearing a dark colored hoodie, dark colored pants, approximately 5'10" to 6' tall, standing/leaning against the wall next to the window.  Officer's responded, checked the area, and did not locate the person in question.  It is unknown right now the intentions of the subject.  Please continue to be aware of suspicious people/vehicles in the area where you live and call our department.  If you think something is suspicious, so will we.
