Prescription Drug Collection Program & Sharps Disposal

Syringe - SharpsSharps

Wisconsin law requires proper disposal of sharps (needles, syringes, and lancets) used at home for people or pets.  Sharps must be stored in appropriate containers and taken to a collection site for disposal.  The Franklin Health Department is a collection site for sharps generated by Franklin residents only.  Containers for collecting sharps are also available at the Franklin Health Department.  Call 425-9101 for details on safe disposal and appropriate containers.  (Note: Knives, razors, and other sharp objects can be placed in your regular trash after being wrapped to prevent injury.)  Collection times are 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.
