Payment by Credit Card

The City of Franklin does not process credit card payments on its own and has partnered with Government Payment Services, Inc. (GPS) to provide this service.  The payer contacts GPS either by phone or online and needs the following basic information to complete a transaction:  Item to be paid, the "Pay Location Code", amount of transaction, the type of credit card, and the credit card number. GPS processes two credit card transactions: one for the amount of the obligation that is immediately forwarded to the City of Franklin, and a second for a convenience fee that is retained by GPS.  PLEASE NOTE:  A 4.75% fee for service will be added to the amount of fees due when paid by phone.  A 2.75% service fee will be added for property tax online payments and a 3% service fee will be added for all other online payment transactions.

Credit card payments are accepted by phone or online 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for the following transactions:

Municipal Court Fines and Forfeitures
Tickets Issued by the Franklin Police Department
Property Tax Bills
Invoices Generated by the City of Franklin

The City of Franklin does not accept credit card payments for Sewer and Water Bills or online licenses and permits that require a concurrent application for those services.
