Comprehensive Master Plan Update Project Committee

The Comprehensive Master Plan Update Project Committee was a temporary Committee formed to help prepare an updated Comprehensive Master Plan for the City.  Under the Wisconsin Comprehensive Planning Law, all units of local government that regulate land use were required to have an updated comprehensive master plan in effect by January 1, 2010. Beginning on the January 1, 2010 date, State Law requires that the City zoning ordinance, subdivision regulations, and official maps be consistent with the City's Comprehensive Master Plan, in accordance with §66.1001(3) of the Wisconsin Statutes.

The City of Franklin 2025 Comprehensive Master Plan was adopted by the Common Council on October 21, 2009.  Future zoning and land use decisions in the City of Franklin will be based on the adopted 2025 Comprehensive Master Plan.

The Project Committee consisted of the members of the Plan Commission, City Engineer Jack Bennett, Planning Manager Joel Dietl, and representatives of Planning & Design Institute.
