Your computer communicates with the City of Franklin's website using a particular Internet Protocol (IP) Address.  Like most sites, the City of Franklin can track the user's IP when visiting the site.  The IP allows the City of Franklin to track for each user the IP, the browser type, the part of the world from which the user is connecting, and the identity of the user's Internet service provider.  However, the IP does not provide any personally identifiable information and allows the user to remain anonymous.  This information helps us to improve site navigation and to make improvements to the site and content.

To the extent that this website contains, or may in the future contain, on-line registration forms for activities or services, during the on-line registration process you may be asked for your name, address, email address, phone number, birth date, occupation, work experiences, employment history, education level, references, or other general or special purpose information needed to complete on-line registration for the specific activity or service.  User information is private and confidential, and this information will not be shared with parties for non-governmental or marketing purposes.  See Wisconsin State Statute 19.35 Access to records; fees, that defines what governmental records are available for open records requests and may contain personal information, while other submissions such as resumes and complaints are confidential and excluded and not open for distribution.
